The news outlet posted a statement saying the account got hacked around 2 a.m.

Many followers of the account have awoken to more than a dozen odd, and often racist and homophobic tweets posted by the @PennLive account – including one where the poster claims the account was hacked by a user by the name of @PINGS as known as “Sean.”

Although later the poster claimed the account was hacked by @zorie, who lists Australia as their location.

The first tweet posted was an innocent “meow” posted at 2:12 a.m., but they quickly escalated:

The user posted tagged other users accounts calling the users racist and homophobic names

Then they then went as far as posting a white power post reading, “Hey, we dont have any Niggers working for us as we fucking hate black people. The only blackies we have here are cotton pickers for us. Thanks for the white workers.”

The poster also shared screenshots of seemingly random Instagram images, one of which linked to a private account.

One tweet even tags the world’s top YouTuber Mr. Beast asking for a challenge to see if they can hack 1,000 verified accounts.

PennLive staff did not immediately respond to Daily Voice’s request to comment on the hack of its Twitter account.
